Lower Extremity Adult Reconstruction Specialist Joins UBMD Orthopaedics

Dr. Andrew StegemannBUFFALO, NY – Western New York’s largest orthopaedic and sports medicine group continues to grow with the addition of Andrew P. Stegemann, DO, a lower extremity adult reconstruction specialist specializing in hip and knee replacements, including complex and revision cases.

Dr. Stegemann completed both his fellowship in adult reconstruction and his residency in orthopaedic surgery with UMBD Orthopaedics through the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo.

Dr. Stegemann, a Western New York native who grew up in Orchard Park, is thrilled to remain in the Buffalo area and stay on with UBMD Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine (UBMDOSM) team as a full-time physician.

“I value my role as a physician, surgeon, and educator and believe in the importance of continued education,” says Stegemann. “I stay up to date on developments within my specialty and offer my patients the most advanced treatment options by staying current with the published literature, engaging in my own research endeavors, and actively participating in the education of residents and fellows.”

Stegemann was awarded the Theodore Papademetriou Award for his outstanding commitment to orthopaedic education in 2021. He is an active member of both the American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons and American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons.

Stegemann’s goal is to provide exceptional patient care and he believes this starts with listening, knowing each patient is unique – it is his hope that this philosophy allows his patients to feel involved in their care.

This is an addition that strengthens UBMD Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine’s growing team.

Stegemann will be seeing patients in Amherst at 4949 Harlem Road and in Orchard Park at 5959 Big Tree Road.
