Student Shadow Experience

UBMD Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine is committed to furthering the field of orthopaedics and all its subspecialties.
Our team includes physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, physical therapists, athletic trainers, radiology technicians, medical assistants and clinical researchers.
Shadowing opportunities allow students to explore a specific field of interest. These experiences provide first-hand exposure to the daily activities within a particular specialty or health care provider role. Various medical program students (nursing, physical therapy, physician assistant, pre-med, etc) may be required to shadow healthcare providers as part of their prerequisite or curriculum. Educational opportunities include shadowing, observation, lectures, etc. This does not include “hands-on” or active participation in direct patient care. If you are interested in a shadow experience, please complete the linked application. Students who pursue shadowing opportunities are expected to adhere to the professional, safety and privacy guidelines articulated below.
