Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Specialist Joins UBMD Orthopaedics

dr boucherBUFFALO, NY – Western New York’s largest orthopaedic and sports medicine group continues to grow with the addition of Dr. George P. Boucher, a physical medicine and rehabilitation specialist.

Boucher completed his residency in Combined Internal Medicine/Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and in PGY2-4 at State University of New York at Buffalo where he also earned his Doctor of Medicine. Boucher received his Bachelor of Education in Physical Education and a master’s degree in biomechanics from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec.

Boucher comes to UBMD Orthopaedics after many successful years in the education field and is thrilled to join the UBMD Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine (UBMDOSM) team full-time.

“My objective is to have people understand how they can remain functionally active in their daily lives, despite their physical injuries, deficits, and pain,” says Boucher. “In other words, have them focus on what is functionally still possible by taking a proactive approach to achieving their goals.”

Boucher is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the Association of Academic Physiatrists, and the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine.

Boucher will diagnose and non-surgically treat a variety of conditions that ultimately affect how people function in their daily lives. Boucher also dedicates much of his clinical time performing electrodiagnostic (EMG) studies to help the physicians within UBMD Orthopaedics, and elsewhere, identify the correct diagnosis that is causing a patient’s symptoms.

This is an addition that strengthens UBMD Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine’s growing team.

Boucher will be seeing patients in Amherst at 4949 Harlem Road and in Orchard Park at 5959 Big Tree Road.
