Primary care sports medicine physician to see patients in Amherst, Niagara Falls and Orchard Park

BUFFALO, NY – Western New York’s largest orthopaedic and sports medicine group is continuing to grow with the addition of Jorden Komm, M.D., a primary care sports medicine specialist. Komm will be helping oversee UB OrthoCare assisting patients with any urgent orthopaedic injuries in Amherst, Niagara Falls and Orchard Park.

The latest physician to join the UBMD Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine team, Komm comes to UBMD from Ferrell-Duncan Clinic/CoxHealth in Springfield, MO. Prior to this, Komm completed his primary care sports medicine fellowship at The University of Buffalo.

A native of Williamsville, Komm is proud to have the opportunity to serve the community he grew up in. He completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo where he was named UB Emergency Medicine Chief Resident from 2017-2018.

“I understand each patient has unique circumstances that can affect the decisions they make regarding their health care and treatment. Whether suffering from an acute injury or an exacerbation of a chronic issue, my goal is to develop a treatment plan individualized for each patient’s specific problem, with a focus on a quick recovery to get patients back to doing what they enjoy,” says Komm. “It is essential for me to continue my education in my field and stay up to date on new research and procedures ensuring I provide the best and most appropriate patient care available.”

Komm was awarded the Department of Emergency Medicine Scholastic Award in 2015, which recognized his outstanding academic record in emergency medicine. While in Missouri, he was involved in Ambassadors for Children, whose mission is to restore dignity to local youth in foster care.

Komm is a member of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine and the Medical Society of the State of New York.
