Jorden T. Komm, MD
Primary Care Sports Medicine, UB Concussion Management Clinic
Clinical Assistant Professor, University at Buffalo
As a fellowship-trained primary care sports medicine physician, it is my goal to not only provide my patients with treatment for their musculoskeletal injuries, but to also do so in the same manner I would want for my own family. I understand each patient has unique circumstances that can affect the decisions they make regarding their treatment. Whether suffering from an acute injury or an exacerbation of a chronic issue, my goal is to develop a treatment plan individualized for each patient’s specific problem, with a focus on a quick recovery to get them back to doing what they enjoy. It is also essential for me to continue my education and stay up to date on new research and procedures, ensuring I provide the best and most appropriate patient care available.

Philosophy
As a primary care sports medicine physician, it is my goal to not only provide my patients with treatment for their musculoskeletal injuries, but to do so in the same manor I would want for my own family. I understand each patient has unique circumstances that can affect the decisions they make regarding their health care and treatment. Whether suffering from an acute injury or an exacerbation of a chronic issue, my goal is to develop a treatment plan individualized for each patient’s specific problem, with a focus on a quick recovery to get patients back to doing what they enjoy.
Treatment with me often involves a team-based approach that can stretch across a variety of disciplines. It can include specialty imaging, bracing, physical therapy, oral medication and injection therapy. While I specialize in non-operative management of orthopaedic conditions, sometimes surgery is necessary and I will discuss progressing to surgical options with my patients when needed.
It is essential for me to continue my education in my field and stay up to date on new research and procedures ensuring I provide the best and most appropriate patient care available. I understand my patients have a choice in their health care and realize an effective treatment plan involves a relationship based on trust and respect between my patients and I. I am proud to have the opportunity to serve the community in which I grew up.
