Foot and ankle surgeon to see patients in Amherst, Buffalo and Orchard Park
Western New York’s largest orthopaedic and sports medicine group is growing again with the addition of Susan Daoust, M.D., a foot and ankle surgical specialist.
The latest physician to join the UBMD Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine team, Daoust comes to UBMD from practicing orthopaedic surgery with the U.S. Air Force Medical Corps. Before that, she completed her residency with the University at Buffalo in 2014.
A native of Millbrook, New York, Daoust is no stranger to Western New York. She completed her fellowship training at UBMD Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine under Dr. Christopher A. Ritter. This gives her an advantage as she starts seeing patients, as she is already familiar with some of the existing patients and the practice’s office locations.
“After traveling around with the military, I was happy to bring my family back to Buffalo,” said Daoust. “It’s amazing to see how much the city has changed, and I’m excited to work with people that I’ve respected and know I can rely on.”
Daoust has received the Peter A. Casagrande, M.D. Award for Outstanding Performance in Residency and the Intra-Service Physician Assistant Program Preceptor of the Year Award. She is also an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society, as well as the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society and Gold Humanism Honor Society.
Daoust will see patients at UBMD Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine’s suburban offices at Amherst Health Center and BrookBridge in Orchard Park, and in the City of Buffalo at Buffalo General Medical Center and Mercy Hospital of Buffalo.
