Following Damar Hamlin’s cardiac arrest during the Buffalo Bills – Cincinnati Bengals game, people are wondering what the emergency action plan entails for local high school sports. Scott Dinse, Director of Physical Therapy and Athletic Training, was interviewed by WBEN regarding the topic.
“All of our athletic trainers carry AEDs with them, they’re all trained annually in CPR and AED. That’s an annual review, as opposed to every two years, which is recommended by the American Heart Association. And we do emergency sideline review every year. What do we do in case of an emergency, just to make everybody think about it and review their own situation,” said Dinse.
