In December 2022, Dr. Michael Freitas was welcomed as a keynote speaker at an inter-professional event at Daemen University. The discussion covered the timely topic of concussion and the importance of interprofessional collaboration in the clinical management of a concussed patient.

The event also included MSAT student, Emily Shea, sharing a discussion of her clinical education experiences in concussion management and at her clinical sites. Daemen University students joined from the departments of AT, PT, PA, and Nursing. Shared among eight working groups, each had three objectives to complete in review of a case study of a concussed female hockey player:
- Specifics of providing care of a concussion patient
- Cultural issues and stereotypes; and
- Importance of Inter-professional collaboration with a concussed patient.
