Dr. William Meyers has dedicated 25 years to pioneering the diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and prevention of core muscle injuries, also known as athletic pubalgia or sports hernia. He has developed a number of variants of the surgical repair for core injuries, and has expertise in treating professional players from the NFL, NHL, NBA, MLB, as well as collegiate and recreational athletes.
Dr. Meyers received his B.S. from Harvard University and his M.D. from Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons. He completed his residency and fellowship at Duke University, subsequently serving 11 years as Chief for various divisions of surgery.
Dr. Meyers has been funded by the National Institute of Health (NIH) and has received various industry grants for research. He has authored and co-authored over 300 peer reviewed medical publications. This morning’s presentation highlighted his expertise in the treatment of core muscle injuries.
