Dr. Leslie Bisson of UBMD Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine was recently featured in the Fall Edition of UB Medicine. The article highlights the positive impact of CPR education and training following Buffalo Bills’ player Damar Hamlin’s cardiac arrest against the Cincinnati Bengals last January.
In the article, Bisson is quoted as saying “Trainers and team are not out doing CPR every day – it’s not necessarily our area of expertise – but we’re trained to do it and we practice it… there was a lot of positive energy and thoughts and prayers for Damar and all of that is incredibly important, but at the end of the day, we had some trained personnel with simple equipment and a plan. If you have that, it should be almost predictable what you can accomplish”.
