Jesse G. Fodero III, MD

Primary Care Sports Medicine, UB Concussion Management and Research Center

As a fellowship-trained primary care sports medicine physician, I dedicate myself to being up to date with new research and medical literature, thereby ensuring my patients are receiving the most appropriate, evidence-based care. I devote myself to treating all patients with respect and kindness, in the way I would want my own family treated. It is rewarding to help individuals return to their preferred activities after injury or exacerbation of a chronic problem, and I believe that all management plans should involve shared decision making with the patient. While it is my goal to maximize non-operative options, I will not hesitate to discuss progressing to surgical interventions when necessary.

Philosophy

Primary Care Sports Medicine is a very rewarding field of medicine. It focuses on helping individuals of all lifestyles and abilities to return to their preferred activities after injury or exacerbation of a chronic problem. In order to achieve this, a multidisciplinary approach focusing on teamwork is paramount.

As a member of this team striving to better our patients, I am always listening to the individual as a whole and not solely focusing on their current problem. It is crucial that all management plans involve shared decision making with the patient, so that a course of action can be chosen that fits best with them. While it is my goal to maximize non-operative options, I will not hesitate to discuss progressing to surgical interventions when necessary.

As a physician, I dedicate myself to being up to date with new research and medical literature, thereby ensuring that my patients are receiving the most appropriate and evidence-based care. Most of all, I devote myself to treating all patients with respect and kindness, in a way that I would want my own family treated.
