Orthopaedic experts join practice, start seeing patients today
UBMD Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine is welcoming a couple of new doctors to the practice.
Married Drs. Matthew and Allison Binkley are the latest physicians to join the UBMD Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine Team. Allison brings a specialization in children’s and pediatric orthopaedics, while Matthew focuses on diagnosing and repairing injuries of the shoulder, elbow and upper extremities.
The Binkleys are both familiar with Buffalo and Western New York. Allison is a native of East Amherst, and both doctors completed their orthopaedic residencies at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo.
Allison Binkley is a graduate of the Jacobs School, where she also completed her orthopaedic residency. For the past year, she has participated in fellowship training at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Ohio, working in pediatric orthopaedics.
“I enjoy taking care of all pediatric orthopedic ailments, and I have a particular interest in hip preservation,” said Allison Binkley. “As a mother, I understand the worry and trust involved in allowing your child be treated by a stranger – and I share the intense desire to keep your child as healthy and whole as possible.”
Matthew Binkley received his medical doctorate from the Wright State Boonshoft School of Medicine in Dayton, Ohio, and completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at the Jacobs School. His fellowship training at Johns Hopkins specialized in shoulder and elbow injuries, repairs and reconstruction, as well as general orthopaedics. He has worked as an attending shoulder and elbow physician at Dayton Veterans Hospital for the past year where he performed both routine and revision shoulder arthroplasty and rotator cuff repairs, in addition to fracture work and elbow care.
“As a former football player plagued with numerous shoulder injuries, I have dealt with the disappointment and frustration of not being able to live the active lifestyle I wanted,” said Matthew Binkley. “My passion is returning patients to the lifestyle they enjoy. I take care of all orthopaedic issues and have a particular interest in caring for shoulder conditions.”
Both doctors are now taking appointments with new patients. Allison Binkley is seeing patients at the Amherst Health Center and BrookBridge in Orchard Park, in addition to the Oishei Children’s Hospital on the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus. Matthew Binkley is based at the Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo, and is also scheduling appointments with patients at BrookBridge.
