BUFFALO, NY – Western New York’s largest orthopaedic and sports medicine group is growing again with the addition of Jesse Fodero, M.D., a primary care sports medicine specialist.
The latest physician to join the UBMD Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine (UBMDOSM) team, Fodero comes to UBMDOSM from The University at Buffalo where he completed his primary care sports medicine fellowship.
A native of West Seneca, Fodero is excited to be able to care for members of the community in which he grew up. He completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo.
“Primary care sports medicine is a very rewarding field. It focuses on helping individuals of all lifestyles and abilities to return to their preferred activities after injury or exacerbation of a chronic problem,” says Fodero. “To achieve this, a multidisciplinary approach focusing on teamwork is paramount.”
Fodero was awarded the Dr. James Goldinger Curriculum Leadership Award which recognized his enthusiasm for teaching throughout medical school. He is also actively involved in research and is currently working on the Retest Reliability of the Buffalo Concussion Physical Exam between an Experienced Sports Medicine Physician and In-Training Physician.
Fodero is an active member of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine and the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine.
This is an addition that strengthens UBMDOSM’s growing team in Niagara Falls. Through their partnership with Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center and Niagara University, UBMDOSM has been able to enhance care provided to the community.
Fodero will be seeing patients at the Summit Healthplex.
