Community Care
Your Community Is Our Community
For the team at UBMD Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, Western New York isn’t just where we work — it’s our home. It’s our friends, families and neighbors. It’s our community, too. That’s why we work to help make the Buffalo region the best it can be through our efforts both in the office and out in the community. Our physicians and staff participate in local charity events and races, continuously promote CPR/AED awareness and training, and support many other local causes throughout the year.
Additionally, we are proud to serve as the official team doctors for the Buffalo Bills, Buffalo Sabres, Buffalo Bandits and Rochester Americans, as well as several collegiate teams and over 30 Western New York high school teams.
Giving Back
Our UBMD Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine team is active in many volunteer events and activities to support the Western New York community annually. In recent years, our team has come together to support Oishei Children’s Hospital, Totally Buffalo’s Hope for the Holidays, Boys on the Right Track, the Buffalo Marathon, and other local causes and organizations.
Your Doctors, Your Neighbors
Your doctor and other members of your care team do more than just help patients. We are actively involved in the community, from participating in sports and cheering on the Bills and Sabres, to educating the next generation of physicians or supporting neighbors in need.
CPR & AED Community Awareness
We have also made a commitment to educating the Western New York community on life-saving knowledge through CPR and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) awareness and training. Partnering with organizations like the Buffalo Bills, Buffalo Black Nurses, Inc. and UBMD Emergency Medicine, we have provided virtual educational materials, hands-on training at the Buffalo Juneteenth Festival, and instructional sessions for student-athletes and youth at several local high schools.
Here is a look at just a few of the ways our team has been active in this incredible region we call home.
Compassion, Innovation & Collaboration
In past years, the Compassion Project has given UBMD Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine the opportunity to give back to the Buffalo community through a grant program designed to offer up to $10,000 in funding to nonprofit 501(c)(3) agencies in the health and wellness sector. Aligning with our values of compassion, innovation and collaboration, past recipients have included groups and agencies that work in health and wellness, sports and fitness, STEM education, activities for disabled children and adults, and other health-related industries across Western New York.
