UBMD Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine has added Jeremy P. Doak, MD to its local team of physicians. Dr. Doak is a surgeon specializing in Pediatric Orthopaedics, Scoliosis & Sports Medicine and Hip Arthroscopy & Reconstruction.
Dr. Doak was born and raised locally in North Tonawanda, NY. He is a board-certified and fellowship-trained surgeon, and also is an associate professor of clinical orthopaedics at the University at Buffalo’s School of Medicine & Biomedical Sciences.
Bringing a wealth of training and experience to UBMD Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, Dr. Doak’s expertise lies in all areas of pediatric orthopaedics, including pediatric trauma and fracture care, pediatric sports medicine, pediatric foot deformity, including clubfoot, scoliosis and spinal deformity. He also specializes in hip arthroscopy, deformity and reconstruction, sports injuries and orthopaedic care of patients with neuromuscular disease, such as cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy and spina bifida.
Beginning in August, Dr. Doak will see patients at UBMD Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine offices, including 4949 Harlem Road in Amherst and 5959 Big Tree Road in Orchard Park.
Dr. Doak accepted an academic scholarship to the University of Florida where he graduated as the valedictorian of his class in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology.
Dr. Doak was then awarded a full scholarship to the University of Florida College of Medicine through the United States Navy Health Professions Scholarship Program. He successfully completed his Medical Doctorate in 2003 at the University of Florida and returned home after being accepted into orthopaedic residency training at the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine & Biomedical Sciences. Dr. Doak graduated from orthopaedic residency in 2008 with the Robert Gillespie Resident Award for Excellence in Pediatric Orthopaedics.
Dr. Doak then fulfilled his Naval commitment as an orthopaedic surgeon at Naval Hospital Pensacola from 2008 – 2013. He received a Navy Achievement Medal during a seven-month deployment to Afghanistan in 2011. After fulfilling his Naval commitment, Dr. Doak was offered the Danforth Fellowship in Pediatric Orthopaedics at the Brown University Alpert School of Medicine in Providence, RI.
